An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the HR team at Tamworth Borough Council as a HR Assistant.

The successful applicant will join a team of 6 providing a HR, Payroll and Training service to the Council staff.  The successful applicant will assist in the day to day provision of HR activities.  Responsibilities include;

  • Maintaining absence records and associated reporting
  • Updating HR databases
  • Provide HR support on recruitment, new starter processes, training and other ad hoc duties.
  • Dealing with routine enquiries predominantly by email.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have an interest in people and customer service
  • Have computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time management and organisational skills
  • An ability to focus and complete tasks within set deadlines

Tamworth Borough Council is committed to flexible working.  The working pattern is open to negotiation e.g. 2 x 5 hours, 1 x 4 hour shift pattern or 4 x 3 hours, 1 x 2 hours shift pattern. Tamworth Borough Council has an ongoing Recovery & Reset programme in response to the global pandemic.  We are looking to rationalise the use of our buildings and an outcome of which could be more hybrid or home working.
