Welcome to WMJobs’ jobseeker support and FAQ page. Here you will find answers to the most common questions posed to our team, which will hopefully help you to quickly resolve your query.
Please be aware that we cannot provide additional information on jobs advertised, answer queries relating to completing an application form or provide you with an update on the progress of an application. All these types of queries need to be answered by the recruiting organisation directly, details of recruiters are listed within our search recruiters page.
Your WMJobs Account
You can create a WMJobs account by clicking the jobseekers ‘create account’ link at the top righthand corner or every page.
A new page will then load where you can complete all relevant fields and review our terms and conditions and privacy policy.
Following registration, we recommend you log out and sign back in to your account, as this action will verify your account as being active.
Once your account is activated / verified, you can then continue to search and update your personal information via your account whilst signed in.
Within your WMJobs account you can:
- Save jobs to view later
- Set up and manage your job alerts
- Upload your CV and let recruiters match you to their jobs
- See jobs where you’ve clicked ‘Apply on website’
- Update your account details including your registered email address
Job Alerts
Job alerts are a great way to be notified about new vacancies that meet your requirements, you can have up to 5 job alerts set up at any time, these can easily be updated.
You can create a job alert within our dedicated page, or within the ‘your jobs’ section of your account, this is also where you can update job alert preferences.
A job will be included in a job alert providing it meets all the criteria you have stated when you set your alert. Taking this into account, try not to be too specific with your criteria as you may miss a suitable role. If you wish to receive alerts for different types of roles, we recommend that your set up separate alerts (up to 5) rather than including all your criteria within one.
To unsubscribe from job alerts, you can sign into your account, go to ‘your jobs’ and delete the job alerts you no longer want to receive emails for. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe by clicking on the ‘unsubscribe’ link in the job alert email. You will be taken to a page to confirm you are now unsubscribed. If you have multiple job alerts, you will need to unsubscribe from each one individually.
When you set up a job alert, you’ll also create a WMJobs account. To access your account, you will first need to reset your password.
Upload your CV
From within your account, you can upload your CV to WMJobs and let recruiters find you. Recruiters who have purchased this package are able to search the CV database and contact jobseekers that may be suitable.
When logged into your account, click ‘your profile’ where you’ll then see options to upload your CV, update your profile information and select any recruiters you do not wish to see your CV e.g. your current employer.

Applying for jobs
WMJobs is a leading public sector job board showcasing job opportunities across the West Midlands region. Recruiters that use the site all have their own preferred application methods whether this be through an online ‘applicant tracking system’, their website or email.
When you click ‘Apply on website’ on WMJobs you will then be taken away from the site and redirected through to the recruiter’s site or application method.
You will not physically apply for a job through WMJobs and therefore we cannot update you on the progress of your application. These types of queries need to be answered by the recruiting organisation directly, details of recruiters are listed within our search recruiters page.
We would advise you to keep a copy of the advert and download any attachments available for the post you are applying for as these documents will not be accessible once the vacancy has closed.
Please note, if a closing time has not been stated on the advert, it will be removed from WMJobs at 11:59pm.

Within your email, please include as much information as possible about your query including your contact details, the name of the recruiter, the website you’re on and job advert details where relevant. If you are receiving an error message, please include a screenshot and details of the browser you are using.
Please note that our helpdesk is open 9am through until 5pm Monday to Friday excluding Bank Holidays, we aim to respond to all queries within 3 working hours.
